Portugal: An interaction program focusing on Nepali migrant workers and laborers in Portugal was successfully held on Monday, February 23, Organized by the Nepalese Women Association in Portugal.
The program was chaired by the Association’s President, Geeta Reule, conducted by General Secretary Saraswati Gautam, and welcomed by Senior Vice President Kala Pangeni. During the event, Professor Catherine Jones from the Centre for Peace and Security at Coventry University (CU), UK; Dr. Anita Ghimire, Director of the Nepal Institute for Social and Environmental Research (NISER); and Dr. Meena Paudel, Advisor of the EVI MIG Project, among others, highlighted the objectives, importance, and relevance of the program.
Professor Catherine Jones informed that the main objective of the program is to study and research various aspects of Nepali migrant workers living abroad and to submit a report at the policy-making level.During the event, workers from different sectors in Portugal shared their problems and possible solutions.
